"RICHARDSON, TEXAS, February 20, 2008 - Well Go USA, Inc. announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Celestial Pictures to release a package of Kung Fu masterpieces from its Shaw Brothers film library. The territories included in the deal are the U.S. and Canada and include future DVD releases in hi definition. The announcement comes on the heels of Well Go USA¡¯s exclusive distribution deal with Oxxo films. Well Go USA continues expansion of their home video business by bringing new quality content across several key genres to the North American market. The first two DVD releases, ¡°The Heroic Ones¡± and ¡°Two Champions of Shaolin¡± are planned to street in May 2008.
One of the cornerstones of Celestial Pictures is the Celestial's Shaw Brothers Film Library consisting of film treasures produced from the 1950s to the 1990s. The Shaw Brothers studio contains the world's largest collection of premiere martial arts and Kung Fu fighting films. Over the past half century, the unrelenting creative efforts of the Shaw Brothers Studio have been instrumental in making the Hong Kong film industry world-famous as the ""Hollywood of the East"". Celestial Pictures began releasing the Shaw Brothers films on DVD in 2002 completely restored from their original negatives as an effort to preserve this great film institution and entertain future generations.
